This 12000 lb Aluminum holding furnace was designed for a major US auto manufacturer. This unit was designed to hold aluminum at ~1873°F for an engine block die casting machine. Using only electric fire-rods in the refractory wall (no gas), this unit increased power efficiency by ~60% over the customers existing gas reverb holding furnace.

When it is time to replace dated equipment and the original paperwork/blueprints are not available, reverse engineering can save time and money. For example, the speed control/overspeed trip update on this 650MW Steam Turbine required four additional speed probes be added to the probe bracket to read the rotor shaft teeth. A new probe bracket was reverse engineered and ready to bolt on upon its arrival to site.
